1957 chevrolet nomad - denver, coworld wide vintage autosdenver, co 80205ph: 8774221570web: n/aoptions:description:worldwide vintage autos is pleased to present this 1957 chevrolet bel air nomad. History in 1957 engine displacement grew to 283 cu in (4,640 cc) with the "super turbo fire v8" option producing 283 hp (211 kw) with the help of continuous (closed loop) mechanical fuel injection. These so-called "fuelie" cars are quite rare, since most bel airs were fitted with carburetion. The 1957 bel air is among the most recognizable american cars of all time; well-maintained examples, especially sport coupes and convertibles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. They are roomy, with tastefully restrained, period use tail fins and chrome. A second automatic transmission, turboglide, was optional. While the original two-speed powerglide continued unchanged, turboglide provided a continuously variable gear ratio which made "shifting" imperceptible. The shift quadrant on turboglide cars followed a "p r n d gr" pattern. Exterior -the paint is two-stage urethane in the original colors, onyx black and india ivory, and the bodywork underneath is laser-straight enough to wear the black with pride. -nomad details were expertly refinished, including the chrome rub strips on the tailgate! -the nomad received all the other upscale trim, including the anodized side panels that define the iconic '57 models. -dual spotlights and a windshield visor that's so well-integrated into the design. Interior -stylized door panels that echo the exterior styling and the plush black carpets. -the instrument panel is filled with bright, crisp instruments, surrounded by a handsome steering wheel finished to match the interior. -there's an am radio in the dash that's fully functional, as well as a clock over on the passenger's side that works. -seat belts were added for safety and that's a no-points deduction at any show. Mechanical -powered by its original 240 horsepower 283 cubic inch v8. -4-barrel carburetor and an ultra-rare “batwing†air cleaner. -underneath, the chassis was detailed for show, including red oxide primer on the floors and new hardware throughout. -two-speed powerglide automatic transmission. -dual exhaust system. Disclosure -this car is immaculate! Own this vintage 1957 chevrolet bel air nomad at wholesale cost. The cost of parts and restoration of these vehicles are increasing daily. They are not making any more and, therefore, they are becoming more rare by the day. Collectible vintage vehicles have historically appreciated at a rate greater than that stock market, go.
